St. Louis was recently rated #1 for online job growth. A recent Zogby poll found that 70% of Americans get their news from the Web - 55% of 18 - 29-year-olds consider the Web as their primary source of news and information - only 7% say the same of traditional media. Recent studies reveal that Web ad revenue is set to eclipse print ad revenue and print ad revenue continues to plummet in record numbers, as does magazine revenue, and newspapers continue to cut back. Bloggers and independent Web sites are the new penny presses.

Mainstream media is yet unsure of how to facilitate a symbiotic relationship with those in social media; too many fine internet writers are lured into generating free content for traditional media with little to no compensation.

United, local bloggers are an attractive niche to area businesses eager to promote their products and services.
